It’s Cold Out There! | Monday, December 21, 2009
With temperatures dipping down into the -30 range this week, Yukon Energy has been forced to burn some diesel to provide enough electricity for everyone. Our weekly energy consumption chart, found here, gives you an idea of the amount of diesel needed. While we encourage the wise use of electricity at any time, it's especially important during the peak hours (breakfast and dinner time) on very cold days. Some options include having short showers instead of baths, using timing devises when plugging in your vehicles, and waiting until off-peak times to run dishwashers or washers and dryers.
